Omaha & Lincoln Course Planning

This page is a planning aid for a Nebraska day trip between Omaha and Lincoln. We do not invent hole counts, course ratings, fees, or rankings. Start with official park pages and the PDGA Course Directory, then confirm hours, layouts, and closures on site.

Rough drive time between downtown Omaha and downtown Lincoln is about an hour on I-80—enough for a morning round in one city and an afternoon round in the other if you keep the plan simple.

Official starting points

Resource Use it for
PDGA Course Directory Search/filter Nebraska (and city name); verify attributes against park signs
City of Omaha Parks — Disc Golf City-listed courses, addresses, dawn-to-dusk note
City of Lincoln — Disc Golf Courses City-listed courses, amenity notes, park rules
Omaha Metro Disc Golf Association Local club course page (cross-check with parks)
Lincoln Flying Disc Club — Courses Local club course overview (cross-check with parks)
UDisc Navigation aid—verify against tee signs

Omaha (city parks list)

Per Omaha Parks & Recreation, the city currently lists three public disc golf courses, open dawn to dusk:

Park (city label) Address (per city) City note
Hanscom Park Beginner 3201 Woolworth Ave 9-hole short course (city wording)
Hummel Park Experienced 11808 John J Pershing Dr 18-hole challenging layout (city wording)
Seymour Smith Park Intermediate 6802 Harrison St 18-hole all-skill layout (city wording)

Hole counts above come only from the city table. For maps and updates, use the city’s Course Map links on that page—or search the park name on PDGA.

Metro tip: PDGA and club pages may list additional Omaha-area courses (for example at county or other park agencies) that are not on the City of Omaha Parks disc-golf list. Treat those as TBD until you confirm the managing agency, hours, and parking on an official page.

Lincoln (city parks list)

Per Lincoln Parks & Recreation, the city maintains public disc golf at:

Layouts, tee sets, restrooms, water, and dog rules change—read the city’s course sections rather than copying numbers from blogs. Lincoln Flying Disc Club is a useful club companion page; still verify against the city when plans matter.

Sample day-trip shapes (pick one, keep it light)

These are route ideas, not ranked recommendations:

  1. Omaha morning → Lincoln afternoon — One Omaha city-list course, then I-80 west to one Lincoln city-list course.
  2. Lincoln morning → Omaha afternoon — Reverse the same pattern.
  3. One-city deep dive — Two courses in the same metro if weather or traffic looks ugly.

Before you leave:

  1. Open PDGA filtered to Nebraska, then narrow by city.
  2. Open the matching city parks page for hours, parking, and rules.
  3. Check for events, temporary layouts, or closures via the local club page or park notices.
  4. Pack water; prairie wind and summer heat are real on open holes.
  5. On arrival, use course map literacy and etiquette & safety.

What to verify on site

No fabricated stats. If a blog claims a rating, length, or “best course in Nebraska,” verify on PDGA, the city parks page, or tee signs—or leave the number out. We prefer links over invented figures. Broader Midwest context: Midwest Disc Golf Courses Starter.
